CSO Purpose

Objectives and purposes a) Inspire Senior Citizens to remain meaningfully engaged 1. counseling retired employees during transition to retired life 2. Providing information and facilitation on medical care and religious pursuits 3. Provide assistance in the event of health problem b) Harness experience, rich knowledge and wisdom of senior citizens. 1. work towards promotion of culture, tradition and heritage sites 2. Promote GNH through schools, colleges and training institutions. 3. Support pristine environment, hygienic living free of litter and trash. c) Work towards harmonious living in the local community. 1. To build bridges for communal harmony between young and old and rich and poor. 2. Extend assistance to elderly citizens to live a dignified life 3. Reach out to support senior citizens in times of distress and grief. d) Extend advisory counseling when in need to the senior citizens. 1. Create more accessible system wherever is possible for senior citizens at all health centers. 2. Provide legal guidance and counseling to senior citizens when in need encourage panel discussions on current topics and other issues of interest for advocacy 3. Lobby with relevant agencies for development of policies Laws and regulations relevant to the senior citizens. e) Establish senior citizens recreation Centre in populated areas from where the various services can be accessed, provide facilities to meet informally and exchange ideas, and generally a place to socialize, which is an important aspect for healthy ageing after retirement
